What Is Muse Video? Meta’s AI Video Model Explained
Muse Video is Meta’s AI model for turning a written description into a short video clip, with sound. Meta announced it in July 2026 alongside the Muse Image model. Here’s what it does, what its limits are, and where things stand right now.
What Muse Video does
- Creates video from text. Describe a scene and it generates a clip.
- Generates its own audio. Unlike many video models, it produces sound that matches the picture, so a clip of a storm comes with wind and rain.
- Shares a foundation with Muse Image. Both models were built on the same base, so prompting habits that work for images carry over.
At announcement, Meta reported it ranked third on Arena’s text-to-video leaderboard.
Clip length: 10 seconds
Each clip is up to 10 seconds long, which is the model’s current limit. That matches our experience. Longer videos are made by planning a sequence of 10-second shots and joining them in a video editor. Our video workflow guide shows how to plan and generate a full video that way.
Who can use it right now
Muse Video is in a limited beta. Meta has said it will come to the same places as Muse Image, which runs free inside Meta AI, but there’s no confirmed date for a wider release, and pricing and limits haven’t been announced. Access depends on your account and country, so if you don’t see video options yet, that’s expected.
Known limitations
- Sound sync. Meta says it’s still improving how well audio lines up with the picture, especially in fast scenes.
- Fast motion. Quick, physically complex action, like a fight or a sports play, is harder to get right. Slow, steady shots look best.
- Consistency between clips. The same character can look different in separate clips unless you use a reference. See keeping characters consistent.
Tips for better clips
- One action per clip. Ten seconds is enough for one clear thing to happen.
- Describe the camera. “Slow push-in” or “static wide shot” gives steadier results than leaving the camera to chance.
- Describe the sound you want, like “distant thunder and rain on a tin roof”, or say “no music” if you’ll add your own.
- Say what to leave out: “no on-screen text, no captions”.

Watermarks
Meta marks Muse Image pictures with an invisible watermark called Content Seal and has said it plans to extend this to video. Read our guide to watermarks and disclosure before publishing AI video.
