Muse Not Available in Your Country? Where Meta’s Muse Works (October 2026)
If you try to sign up for Muse and see a message saying it isn’t available in your country or region yet, you’re not doing anything wrong. Muse is rolling out one country at a time. Here’s where it works right now, what the message means, and what you can do while you wait.
Where Muse is available (October 2026)
| Country | Status | Launched |
|---|---|---|
| United States | Available | September 8, 2026 |
| Canada | Available | September 18, 2026 |
| Japan | Available (reported) | October 23, 2026 |
| UK, Ireland and the EU | Not yet | No date announced |
| India and Pakistan | Not yet | No date announced |
| Australia and New Zealand | Not yet | No date announced |
Japan is the first market outside North America. Some outlets have also reported Mexico, but that hasn’t been confirmed. Meta hasn’t announced dates for any other countries, so treat any “launching next month” claims you see online with caution until Meta confirms them.
What the “not available” message means
In unsupported countries, the sign-up screen says Muse isn’t available in your country or region yet. Meta says it will let you know when Muse launches where you are. There’s no separate waiting list to join, so you don’t need to sign up anywhere else to hold a place.
Why Muse is limited to a few countries
Meta hasn’t given a full explanation, but a few factors are typical for a launch like this:
- Local rules. Muse acts on your behalf: it can browse, book and buy. Countries with strict AI and data protection laws, like the EU and UK, usually get products like this later. Meta’s regular AI assistant took around 18 months to reach the UK after its US launch.
- Partners. Many of Muse’s abilities depend on local services, such as booking and payment partners, which differ by country.
- Language. Each new language needs testing before launch.
Should you use a VPN?
We don’t recommend it. Reports say a VPN isn’t a reliable way in, because app stores are tied to your account’s country, not your internet connection. More importantly, Meta’s terms say you need to be in a supported country to use Muse, and Muse connects to your accounts, email and payment methods. Breaking the terms puts your Meta account at risk, which isn’t worth it for early access.
What you can use instead
- Meta AI is available in many more countries, including India, through WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and meta.ai. It’s a chat assistant rather than an agent, so it won’t carry out tasks for you, but it can answer questions and, in many countries, generate images with Meta’s Muse Image model.
- Other AI assistants with agent features are available in more countries. Our Muse vs ChatGPT comparison explains how they differ.
